That turquoise blue is no legend.

    Blue Lagoon

For years, this blue only existed on your screens. Then one morning you step off the boat, and you realise this is what you'd been missing.

    A day full of colour.

    South Pass & Pink Sand

“I'm staying on the boat,” you tell yourself as the first shark glides past. Ten minutes later, you're the last one who wants to climb back on. In the afternoon a beach comes into view, and now you're sure. Even a photo will struggle to count as proof…

Who it's for: Anyone who can swim, diver or not: no certification needed

    Sunset Cruise, Fakarava

    Evening · 2h · Private

An evening that comes once in a lifetime.

    Sunset Cruise

You don't notice at first that you've stopped talking. The sky turns from gold to copper, then to pink, and the water, smooth as a mirror, reflects it so faithfully that the boat seems to hang between two skies. Above the palm trees, the horizon catches fire. The two of you sit at the bow without a word, because there's nothing left to say…

    Common questions

Which Fakarava excursion should I choose?

For a first outing or with children, the half-day Blue Lagoon: shallow water, easy swimming, Bird Island. To see reef sharks and the Pink Sand, the full-day South Pass. For a quiet moment for two, the sunset cruise. For a group or your own itinerary, the private boat.

Can you see the South Pass sharks without diving?

Yes. The South Pass tour is surface snorkeling with mask and snorkel: you watch the reef sharks and fish from the surface, no dive certification needed. You do need to be able to swim.

North or South: what's the difference?

The Blue Lagoon is in the north-west of the atoll, closer to Rotoava village, so the trip fits into a morning. The South Pass (Tetamanu) and the Pink Sand are at the far end of the lagoon, hence a full day with lunch on a motu.

How many days should I plan in Fakarava?

Travellers usually recommend 3 to 4 days to see both the north and the south of the atoll, with a spare day in case the wind moves a trip.

    When is the best season?

The dry season, May to October, usually brings calmer seas and clearer water. Shark gatherings in the pass are said to peak around June and July. Tours run all year, depending on the day's weather.

How many people are on the boat?

10 guests at most. Shared tours run from 8 guests; below that, you choose another date, another tour, a private charter for a supplement or a full refund.

    Already have a date?

Send us the day and how many of you there are. We reply with the seats left, and asking costs nothing.
